Unconventional Backstory:

I have been referred to as a Conceptual Musician, a little like Malcolm McLaren. And this is a concept album made for the purpose of accompanying my autobiography, though I do intend to put a band together to reproduced it.

I am often asked how I produced my music, and no, it is not AI generated, in fact I hate the whole AI revolution. As a creative, it drives me mad when someone produces something of value and the general assumption is that it must be AI, well it’s not I’m glad to say.

In 2015 I finished writing my autobiography and five years later in 2025 it was published. Another five years later in 2025 I completed the album “Unconventional”. A self imposed personal project which cost thousands to produce, but was worth every penny.

The Lyrics: All of the lyrics for the album are 100% written by myself and I copyrighted them back in 1992. They all originated from my poetry which I used a coping mechanism and an escapism from my abusive childhood, and later tweaked then to be used as song lyrics.

The Music: As a conceptual musician I know in my head exactly the kinds of sounds I want to hear for each track and I have a good understanding of music. I paid session musicians for many aspects of many of the tracks to use as a base layer. Then with the use of DAW software I introduced some of my own created sounds, mixed, blended and remixed until I achieved the sounds that I wanted. Some of the final tweaks were produced in various other music and video editing editing tools. 

The Videos: As a video editor I extensively researched stock websites and purchased professional video clips and images to suit the criteria of each story that I wanted to convey, sometimes spending days hunting for the right elements for each project.

The AI: Despite my dislike of AI I have to admit that reluctantly I did use AI for the Newsreader on the videos at the start and end of the album and for odd aspects in other videos.

The Results: Ultimately, no matter how I created this album, it is a worthy music album in its own right. I appreciate some of the imperfections but at least I have the satisfaction of knowing that it is original and unique with an intense, relatable human story and a production of significance. Conceived, produced and mixed by myself, a time consuming project which consisted of over 2,500 files and more than 300Gb.

HEALED
I’m Getting There
Backstory:

Many tracks for this album were also produced at the same time as the Unconventional album, however the genres for this album are mainly Alternative Rock and Shoegaze, Base, Ambient. HEALED continues the emotional journey from my debut album and provides some similar poignant and relatable vibes, still in the vein of letting other victims know that they are not alone, plus a little reminiscing.

The videos for this album are less intent in their story telling than those of the Unconventional album, and are designed more to simply provide some visuals whilst listening to the each track.
